Appliqué

A textile technique where pieces of fabric are layered onto a base cloth and stitched down, often by hand. We use appliqué not just because it’s beautiful but because it allows us to make use of offcuts. It’s often mistaken for patchwork - but grannies worldwide would start raising fists if you said they were the same thing.
